How Can I Change My Kare's Name!?
Please remember that you can only change your kare's name once -- This chance will present itself to you immediately after meeting your kare for the very first time.
After the initial event is over, this screen will appear.
First comes the block of text at the bottom:
Line1: <<Please Give The Student Council President A Name>>
* "Student Council President" is referring to Kaoru. Other characters will be referred to differently, so don't panic if that line looks a bit different for your kare if you don't have Kaoru!
Line2: ※Because you cannot change the name after this, be certain...!
*The actual word used is "prudent/careful"
Next is the small panel that appears at the top.
Notice here that the name has not yet been changed; it still reads
Surname: Souma
Name: Kaoru
Line1 is the surname -- that is, your kare's LAST NAME. Type it in this space.
Line2 is the name -- that is, your kare's GIVEN NAME. Type it in this space.
In Japan, people are introduced with their surnames first (because before the importance of the individual is the importance of the family). They are addressed by their surnames (or titles like "president" or "teacher") until they maintain close relations with someone -- only then are they referred to by their first names. That's your bit of trivia for today!
